All about The Pellet Griller

I smoke and grill meat. I live for BBQ, family, and friends.

Growing up in rural America, I was surrounded by the rich tradition of BBQ. My father was an old school BBQ enthusiast, and spent countless hours tending to his pit, smoking meats to perfection. From a very young age, I was fascinated by the process; from starting the fire, creating the perfect ratio of spices for the rub, staying up all night feeding the fire box, and then finally feasting on the delicious meat smoked to perfection.

As I got older I began to experiment with different techniques and flavors, and developed my own recipes and methods. Eventually, I opened a BBQ catering business and food truck. Using the skills and techniques I originally learned from my Father and then perfected over the years, I quickly built up a small local following.

I bought my first Traeger pellet smoker in 1999 after having my third son and finding my time in short supply. I was able to smoke (and grill!) food without constantly tending to a fire and I was instantly hooked on pellet grilling.

Over the past twenty five years I have owned many other pellet grills to cook for family and friends. I still have my BBQ catering business but when I’m in the backyard you can usually find me cooking over a pellet grill. I love to share what I’ve learned, and created this site to help you become a better backyard pellet griller.
